Botox : Aging, or in today’s popular parlance “getting older”, is a biological process that causes many changes in our skin. As we get older, our skin becomes increasingly vulnerable and cannot repair itself as well and as quickly as it did when we were young. Being so vulnerable to our skin brings with it many deformations, the most famous of which is undoubtedly skin wrinkles. There are many reasons for wrinkles, which begin to appear in the mid-30s.

Many factors cause wrinkles, such as decreased collagen production in the skin, weakening of connective tissues and slowing down the self-renewal process of skin cells. Especially the wrinkles that form around our eyes, on our forehead and between our eyebrows, which we call mimic wrinkles, are the first wrinkles that appear as the quality of our skin decreases.

Treatment of expression wrinkles is among the most popular treatments today. In wrinkle treatments with botox application, which is one of the first procedures that come to mind when it comes to non-surgical aesthetics, we achieve more successful results every day and ensure high patient satisfaction.

What does Botox do?

Botox, obtained from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, helps the muscles working while making facial expressions to contract less. It prevents the formation of wrinkles due to muscle movements by inhibiting muscle movements. Since the muscles contract less and in a controlled manner in the area where Botox is applied, wrinkles do not appear in this area during the effect period of Botox.

In addition to wrinkle treatment, Botox is also used effectively in the treatment of sweating and teeth clenching. In the treatment of sweating; It is applied to the palms of the hands, armpits and soles of the feet. In the treatment of teeth clenching, it is applied to the masseter muscle located in the lower jaw on both sides of the face. Excessive contraction of the masseter muscle here is prevented by Botox. In this way, teeth clenching is prevented and the lower face becomes thinner as the contraction of the masseter muscle is prevented.

Botox procedures are procedures that act locally. Due to its regional effects, Botox injections must be made one by one in all areas where there is deformation.
